All of the editing done via final cut Pro
The editing which i did:
i cut several shots with the tool bar of 'Final cut pro', so the sequence flowed, creating suspense with rapid cutting, for example through the alley way.
Below is an example of a reaction shot with the character of Ben reacting quickly to Aimee's dialogue creating tension.

How i used Microsoft was by creating a presentation background, then converted into 'Final cut Pro' and applied the image to the sequence.
I used Garage Band various of times, what i done for the Kwirk productions was, i recorded my self saying Kwirk productions and then
edited using deeper vocals, so the backing track was significantly more
sinister. Then to get onto my sequence i had to convert the soundtrack to
I tunes. From I tunes i had to import it into Final cut pro. I had to do this
for the other four soundtracks of Garage band, being 'suspense accents'
'tweeting birds', 'thunder roll' and 'beautiful melody'.
The main technology which i used was the Sony bloggie
because this is where the cinematography takes place,
as our Director of photography Jacob was the one in
control over the camera angles with the Bloggie for
example the 'close up'of Aimee's face created tension
as the audience could clearly see the emotions which
Aimee was consuming.
Extend your evaluation by creating a post in whatever way you choose comparing the representation of one of your characters with the representation of a similar character from a film of the same genre. How are they represented? How are your choices similar / different? How do you conform or subvert the expectations?
The character which i have compared to the villain in our film, is 'Mike Myers' from our inspiration film 'Halloween'. The reason for us emulating 'Mike Myers' is, whilst referencing to 'Halloween, the character of Mike Myers always comes to mind because the character is symbolic. The reasoning for 'Mike' being symbolic is essentially his masks, over the Halloween series the character Mike Myers always has a mask either in his hand or on his head, even from a young age when the crime starts. We portrayed our character similar to Mike Myers through the use of Mise en scene, as we also portrayed our villain with the symbolic mask, as it hides all emotions making the villain a lot more ambiguous and has a cold heart. Also another similarity is that we applied no dialogue for our character, emulating 'Mike Myers' this makes the villain distinct to all other characters, which also portrays him as a different species making the villain a lot more malicious.
Also how we made the character similar to Mike is through the use of cinematography, to create suspense. In the picture below on the left, it shows how the audience knows the inevitable death because the character cannot see the killer, but the audience can. Almost like a pantomime villain. We also applied this shot on the right, because we tried to emulate the same effect of suspense. Both shots are 'body shot' because this can reveal the emotions by the stature of the way the villain is standing in dominance contrasting the vulnerable victim, which applies to the conventions of horror because we both have portrayed the villain to be significantly more dominant than the victim
How they are different are through the use of mise- en scene in the deaths of victims, because in the Halloween picture below there is a significant amount of blood on the victims body with his head missing, whereas in the picture below of my characters death you can hardly see the blood, which means that essentially Halloweens victims' death is more sufficient in terms of horror than ours. To try and exaggerate the death we used the video filter 'bad film' to create suspense.

This an extension task on how i have used the conventions of both your chosen genre and opening sequence conventions (3 for each). The first 3 are talked about in the above clip but the other are an extended task.
